Lose an object not equipped

I have to lose my armor for the Bad Stuff of a monster (I'm sorry, I don't remember which monster) that say "Lose your armor".
I've an armor but it's not equipped, Do I lose that armor?

(Bad stuff says "Lose your armor" and not, like the curse "Curse! Lose the Armor You Are Wearing"...)
