I emailed about this and was told to post it here (really annoying by the way to have to do that. What's the point in having an info email if you don't get information!)
I bought the penny arcade add on awhile back. I am still confused about the "but there's still no cake" card. What is the charity phase? how do you use this card properly? Thanks for the help |

I'm not a speaker for SJGames, but they are a gaming company, with all the bureaucracies that come with that. Their e-mail contact is for company related issues, the person who answered you may not even play the game. The official place to discuss rules and gaming issues is the forum. Which is standard for gaming companies, as far as I know.
Quote:
But There's Still no Cake allows you to have a second turn immediately after you finish the current one, after you have completed all the four phases in the previous turn.

Also posting to the forum allows others who may have the same or a similar question find the answer. Your question and the answer to it become a resource for all of us.

To speak to some of what Igor (bonetm) said: Every rules sheet, at least for each core set (the ones in the bigger boxes) points to these forums as the place to speak with fellow players and company staff about Munchkin. Beyond that, the Contact Us link at the bottom of every webpage takes you to a page that offers this information (with links):

Igor's response is correct, but if that isn't enough of an explanation, let me know here and I'll try to give some deeper detail. |

Okay thanks folks. So this card really isn't helpful unless you get it right off the hop it seems.

Why do you say that? Taking an extra turn can be useful at many points in a game. For instance, if you are at Level 9, fought a monster, and everybody threw everything they had at you to stop you from winning, you could play this, take another turn immediately, and hope to draw another monster, when nobody has anything left to stop you with.

Or, better, not find a Monster and look for trouble against a weak Monster in the hand.

Right. This thread started a while ago, so I didn't look at the card recently. There are sooooooo many. . .
