Curse! Cursed Thingy

I have a question regarding the curse "Cursed Thingy."
I was playing the game with my brother, and cursed one of his weapons.
The card says that a curse can be removed by another curse (for example a curse that removes headgear would remove a cursed headgear).
He interpreted this as "Any curse will remove the curse" and I interpreted it as "His cursed weapon could only be removed by a curse that removed his weapon."
Which one of us is right?
