Munchkin Mating Call

Ran into this during a game last night with my family:

I'm the only person in play with steeds (Eagle Steed & Dragon Steed with Trick Riding Boots) My son uses Mating Call. Naturally, I'd be the only player rolling and per Mating Call's text, "The low roller must give you his Steed." I argue that since I'm the only roller, I'm the high roller. He argues that the card is only concerned with the low roller and since I'm the only roller, I'm the low roller. (He's 10. (!)) Am I still the low roller even though I'm the high roller too? The more I think on it, the more I think he's right.
