Curse! Thrown into the Arena

So this curse was played on someone, who then kicked a monster and is losing the fight. If another munchkin joins the combat are their bonuses limited to hand items as well? Or is it just whoever is cursed that cannot benefits from hand items.

Curses only apply to the victim of the Curse. The Helper's Items are unaffected.

And just to be sure, it's non-Hand Items that you cannot benefit from with this Curse.
