Would I be able to doppelganger and illusion then? Or does it become one or the other?

Are there any cited rules about this issue with how Doppelganger, or the Gnomes ability get discarded away, and that they can't be used then ask for help? By strictly reading the card I interpret it as that if I am already given help that I cannot use either one, but that on the condition that I am alone then I can use it without restriction later to gain help.
I usually MunchkinMan, Andrew, and I believe Clipper (or some other MIB) posting to help others, and I find it to be informative and trustworthy. I am not sure on the capacity on your individual authorities in regards to giving information without citing the sources. Are you just asserting your experienced opinions, or are you judges that can make final official rulings? This might not be the appropriate thread to ask, but it does concern how I accept your views on matters here including other threads. If this is an official ruling, then how come discard it than rather putting it back to where it was? |

It's official.
Andrew and I give official rulings based on our knowledge of the game, the cards, and, in some cases, of what Steve told us. If there's a rule to cite, we'll cite it, but in this case, this is one of those things that we both agree is consistent with other rulings given on similar issues, and is, in part, based on something Steve told me *cough* years ago. |

Okay, so if you use either, then you can still ask for help, but you must discard the card you used, correct? No being locked into going it alone.
Baconbastard asks a question I too was curious about, which is being able to use both. Both are under the circumstance of you being alone, so they should both work, correct? Also, no one pointed out a previous inclusion to this thread about loaded dice being multiplied and other thing stoo when you use doppelganger. Is this true, or could anyone point out if that's incorrect? If that is correct can I consider my doppelganger to have all the monster enhancer cards and stuff too, and if so, can I choose to use his cards and not mine.... I think we all see how far that path goes. Exactly how does doppelganger work? I see it as anything that increases your bonus that was used before doppelganger will double your bonus, but others are also saying it will be influx with whatever future adjustments are made within that combat, which I can also make sense of. How do things get added to the FAQ, and do any of these rules that you decide on here get included ever on your authority? |

The second post in this thread is official. Quote:
Generally, a question gets added to the FAQ when it has been asked frequently enough that we're tired of answering it, or sometimes when the answer to one question is fairly universally applicable to several similar circumstances. I'm sure Pathfinder will get its own FAQ section in short order.
