Races and Classes

You may discard a Class or Race at any time. You may play a new Class or Race at any time on your turn, or as soon as you get the card even if it's not your turn.

Yes, a Cleric could claim the +9 bonus, change to Warrior (assuming it's your turn), and claim another +3, but you'd have to burn a lot of cards to do it.
