I updated my character and added equipment...just his boots and a small foldable knife with a belt clip. I see people walking around with those all the time...not sure if he can transport that in his checked luggage or not....but figure he'd have it. Let me know if that is ok?

Here cometh Emmanuel Lopez, aka "Craft Kiddie", the party make-and-repairman. Because you'll NEED someone to make that fence last more than a day.

My dad carries one of those all the time, so that'll work.

For my defence, it didn't exist at the time I posted mine.

I'd like the GM approval for something along the "Weird science" power modifier, which normally let a super scientist produces formidable effects out of "normal" weird machinery (e.g turning a jetpack into a blaster), except here, it would be for revived "dead" electronics, but that will only works in HIS hand. Per example, he could technically make a lamptorch work; but he won't be able to make, say, an electric fence (except if he stays here to electrify the zombies coming). See where I'm getting at? I'm willing to take a costly Unusual Background in order to be able to make electronic stuff work (I promise I won't use it to revive everything electric in the hotel, it's really just to have gadgets).

Alternatively, I could also have "Gadgeteer (only funny gadgets)", or "Gadgeteer (electronics)", and then I WILL go out of my way to get energy sources in order to make my stuff work. So there will be a "theme" difference between me and Carlos.

If all else fail, alas! I'll make another concept.

Weird Science is more of the ability to come up with new scientific theories that are beyond the thoughts of others. You seem to be aiming more for repairing and gadgeteering. You could, I suppose, use weird science to think of new uses for technology, like the Idea attribute in Call of Cthulhu. In THAT case, you wouldn't need the unusual background. But gadgeteering (electronics) basically covers that, so that's all you need.

I certainly understand the desire to play a Gadgeteer in a post-apocalyptic setting! In fact, that sort of tinkering as a concept encompasses a majority of the appeal that such settings have for me. Add in the fact that the more people with those sorts of capabilities in the group, the more likely we are to survive, and I'm all for it, as long as everyone's still having fun.
