Default Striking Strength (Thrust damage only)?

What would you guys determine the limitation (Thrust damage only) for Striking Strength to be at? -20%, -40%?

I would give it no more than -20% and perhaps only -10% for an unarmed fighter.

-20% ish, not stackable with One Attack (at least not linearly).

I think this is a great example of why taking away 'half' of an advantage is only worth -20%.

I personally think -40%, identical to the no fine manipulators limitation on ST (/Striking ST) could be reasonable.

In effect, that is pretty much what you get without having to take the big no fine manipulators disadvantage and without having to apply the limitation to all your ST.

Compare it to one attack only (-60%) as well, this would by definition always be a thrusting attack (it is intended for natural attacks) and as it limits you to one of bite, punches, kicks and, if available, strikers, the incentive to attack much with the others is comparatively low anyway.

Or it could be viewed this way:

If one attack is 2 points (-60%) and we say that this is about a fourth or third of what general thrusting only striking ST gives you, then consulting the accessibility table from powers, that would be -25% to -30%, thus, if 2 = X -25% (or -30%),
X would be 2 after rounding, thus, also ending up with a -40% limitation.

Given that thrusting only not only gives one only half the scope, but also half the effect, this does seem fair all in all.

I should add though that I base this on, indeed, an unarmed fighter, unlike DangerousThing, I think it might be reasonable to charge more if it also applies to thrusting weapons, as that greatly ups the effectiveness.

This is a fairly clear case of "works 50% of the time," I feel. The standard Accessibility value for that is -20%; see GURPS Powers, p. 99.

So...

Striking ST +4 [20]; Striking ST +4 (Thrust Only, -20%) [16]

Adds +4 to Thrust and Swing, which can be converted to +2 per die for all ST Based Attacks for [36], and...

Striking ST +4 (Weapons Only, -20%) [16]; Striking ST +4 (Weapons Only, -20%; Thrust Only, -20%) [12]

Adds the equivalent damage bonus (only) of Weapon Master for [28],
and if we include something like (Chi, -10%) that becomes [24]
