Nice pics, thorough review!

They do not look nearly as sturdy as the project that you and Bruno had been discussing upthread, but for the price, I think its a nice compromise.

2 sets for 28$ plus shipping is competitive with the medium battle mat from Crystal Caste. I think your review cinches it for me. Because Im a father, if I dont ask for something specifically, then I get a bottle of Hai Karate Cologne. Id rather have clear hex tiles for the Zombie Game :)

Glad you found the review helpful. My only regret is that they can't be used as throwing stars. And the lack of paper curl-up prevention, but I can use some little weights and tape to deal with that. Also, like you say, you can't beat the price!

I normally just bean rambunctious players with an empty soda bottle. It makes a satisfying thonk sound.

I'm thinking of the clear rubbery silicone stick-on feet you can get for furnature or table-top appliances - adds some weight to help with curl, and adds needed traction control, with minimal blocking of the underlying map.

Black marker, or opaque white marker for dark surfaces, on the grid lines, sounds like a good plan. You'd have to head out to an office supply place to get the white marker, but they do exist.

That is right.

Kale: in that place are some reviews of GURPS releases, as G4e Martial Arts (by RPK, I believe), a GURPS Dungeon Fantasy 1&2 review, and a GURPS Gladiators review for instance. All these reviews (excepting the MA one) were initially posts in SJG forums -as this review of yours-, a bit modified afterwards for uploading them to the RPGNet site.

Anyway it's only an idea.

I still think this is a viable idea. Since we were already semi-crowd-funding it anyway, perhaps Kickstarter would be a good place to make this happen?
