The Katana only needs ST 11 one-handed, see the Broadsword section of the weapon table (LT66).

I was planning on using the two-handed version of the katana for the Slight increase to damage. My GM add's an extra +1 to the listed damage of two-handed weapons.
He informed me that using a two-handed weapon in one hand renders it an unbalanced weapon, so I'm moving to the one-handed ones and using the broadsword skill. I'm keeping the 15 ST because this is a high-point character and extra damage is always nice. |

If you use it with both hands, you get two-handed damage. If you use it with one hand, you get one-handed damage. |

MA gives -1 when using a two handed weapon with 1 hand. Also, it changes the skill.
I suggest you instead using the weapons for a bigger SM(LTC2). Also, buy the technique dual weapon attack, so you can attack 3 times per turn without any penalty. |

but I've switched to one-handed swords, so the point is moot. |
