Playing Cards on Combat

Hello everyone. I'm new to Munchkin so please forgive me for the silly question.
When you play cards on someone else combat are you limited on the number of cards to play (i.e. only one card per combat or players fighting)?

No limit. Anything you can legally play is fair game.
