Munchkin 7 - Cheat With Both Hands

Hi

I just bought Munchkin (learned about it few months ago). The set I played with already had expansions 2-5. I was planning on buying all the expansion (2-8) except for 7 because I read that it is used to join other Munchkin games and since I don't have them, It seems that i don't need this expansion...
Or am I wrong and are there other reasons why I should buy this expansion?
I also read about booster cards, is it interesting to buy some of those?
