Default Further queries

Just completed a round of munchkins with my friends for the first time.
We would appreciate some clarity on the rules here... Tks in advance.

1) Can armed items as well as carrying items (placed sideways) be converted immediately as discard cards to power the class's abilities such as berserking, Resurrection, Turning etc?

2) To enjoy the race bonus from half-breed and Super Munchkin cards, do we keep them in hand or place it on the table? We can coming from an angle of freeing card slots to meet the 5-card requirement.

3) For cards like flaming poison potion, druid fluid etc, it state an bonus to either side. Does this mean to the monster and player as well? If so, it does not offer much to the battle... Why are these cards design in such a way?

4) Can a player level up to victory through cards, besides Divine Intervention for Cleric? We suppose not, therefore would appreciate a confirmation on this.

5) For carrying items (placed sideways), must it be placed upwards?

Unless the ability specifies otherwise (by saying "discarding from the hand"), yes.

You MUST play those cards to gain their benefits. Also note that you cannot play a Super Munchkin card without a Class, or a Half-Breed card without a Race.

"Either side," not "both sides." You choose whether to give the bonus to the munchkins or the monsters (but not both).

Page 1 of the rules is quite clear on this point: you MUST kill a monster to reach Level 10 unless a card EXPLICITLY says otherwise, as Divine Intervention does.

I'm assuming you mean "face up." Yes. Cards in play must be visible to all players, and are public information -- so putting them in a stack where only the top one is readable is also not kosher.

It depends on the Class ability. I'm pretty sure Resurrection states that it has to come from the hand. As does the Wizard Charm. If it just says to Discard a card then it can come from hand or from in play as long as it isn't the card that is providing the ability (i.e. you cannot discard Thief to power a Backstab.)

If you are referring the text that states that you aren't affected by the disadvantages of a single race, if you are a Half-Breed Human/Elf, then yes it must be in play. Nothing in your hand provides any inherent power or ability until such a time that it hits the table.

It means that the Flaming Poison Potion, which is +2 to either side...I think, can be used to either give the Munchkin +2 OR the Monster +2. It is up to the player who used the Item to decide which side is boosted.

In order to win a player must have Killed a Monster. Not just Defeated but Killed. The only times that isn't the case it will be stated quite clearly on the card, i.e. Divine Intervention, Dark, etc.

Yes, all cards played on the table must be face-up.

Edit - looks like Andrew is having a late night as well...

Tks for the advice given.

Yes, it is either side. Can't believe that all four of us actually missed it.. sigh.
