The Munchkinomicon said "...Draw a Spell if you start the turn with the Munchkinomicon...". When should we draw this Spell if we are using the Listen At The Door rule? According to this thread, we should draw the face-down Door card first, then the Spell, and then Kick Open A Door, am I correct?
If I forget to draw such Spell and realize it in the same turn, but after I did something (e.g., Kick Open A Door or selling Items), can I draw the Spell? Thanks.

I think the trigger for the "Draw a Spell" is as soon as your turn begins.
So even though Listening is the first thing you normally do, I think Drawing a Spell takes precedence over Listening.

I am at a loss to think of a time when the order matters (and I'm not soliciting a long discussion of when it might), but according to the precedent of other "beginning of turn" effects, I'm saying "Draw a Spell, then Listen." But I don't think anything breaks if you go in the other order.

At what point is it too late to claim this card? Could you, for example, wait until the player before you completes their Charity phase, and steal the 'Nomicon right before your turn begins, so you could get a Spell for stealing it and for having it at the beginning of your turn?

The completion of the Charity phase IS the end of that player's turn. There's no time between "your turn is over" and "my turn begins."

Could you steal the 'Nomicon during the Charity phase, then?
Not trying to split hairs, but the question has come up a few times at our table. |

As far as I understand the rules, no. Once you start giving out your cards (or discarding them if you are the lowest-Level) you must finish reducing your hand to the correct size before anything else can happen and as soon as you are done, your turn ends and the next turn starts immediately.
Thus, anyone wanting to take the Munchkinomicon just before their turn must do so before the previous player starts reducing their hand (or before they declare they end their turn if they don't need to give Charity). |
