The only case where you would probably get to choose is if you join a combat where there are already multiple Bats as the helper. Most other situations, the first Bat that shows up dies instantly due to the Bat Bat. There are ways for multiple Bats to show up simultaneously (e.g., in an Epic game), but it doesn't seem worth listing (especially in 101).
