So, on this card, the directions say to discard all cards in play. This can be read a few different ways.
1- (the least fun) Discard all one-shots and monsters pertaining to the current battle only 2- (more literal) Discard all the cards you have in front of you. It's like dying, except that you keep your hand. 3- (the most literal, and also wildest) Discard all cards in front of everyone. The "table flipping" card. I read it to mean option 3, but I would like a second opinion, as some people might hesitate to use it that way. I saw other threads regarding the card, but none on this issue. Thanks for any input! |

I take it as you have for option 1. Although the other 2 you have there Are very interesting. That last one is quite harsh. And could most definitely put a damper on the game.
You can use it however you like but for the purposes of proper rules, it is used to to rid one shot items, monsters, and enhancers...

This is the intent, and that's official. It's probably not the best wording, but it's what we have for this card.

The "Table Flipping" idea is awesome. Very similar to "Rocks Fall..." :D

Taking that extremely literal definition is worse than everybody dying as you would all also lose your Race and Class. Continuing to play it that way would be a very nasty house rule.

Andrew said on one of the videos (I’m paraphrasing) that he considers cards that make you loose everything or mess up what you have been trying to build up (like Mi-Go Mind Switch and Trade Character Sheets) are not fun and more malicious then what Munchkin is intended to be. In short, table wipe cards probably don’t exist as a general rule.

But at least when you come back from Death, you get a whole new hand. (And I have intentionally NOT put insta-Death effects in any set I've worked on. They aren't fun.)

Thanks for all the input guys! I even got 2 official responses. As you said, it could be worse than dying if you have a terrible hand. And I do have "rocks fall" already for a true "table flipping" card.
