Raincoat and Item-Ignoring Monsters

If Player A enters combat against a monster where items cannot be used against it, is the raincoat still active to prevent other players from using potions to interfere in combat?

It kind of depends on the monster. Could you give a specific example? If it's Ghoulfiends, I think your Raincoat would still work as you are not using it against them. If it were Lightning Bug, which says your Armor does not protect you during the battle, then I'd guess it does stop the Raincoat entirely. Other monsters will depend on the specific text used.
