Default New picture from $4.5k sheet #3 - Barbarians at the Gate

As we move into the depths of winter, I thought I would share another image from my counter sheet, titled Barbarians at the Gate. As usual, the work FireHorse did is amazing!

Details on pre-ordering are being finalized, and I hope to have a link up for you soon...

Enjoy!

D.

Pink and purple tanks. My plan to get my daughter playing is on track.

That was the idea for my daughter, and one of the reasons I included the pink GEV squadron on my sheet! (My son's already hooked...). I'll post an image of that soon...

D.

(Other reasons include the fact that SJ seemed to genuinely like the idea, plus the complete randomness of it! Just imagine a battlefield in the early dawn...the morning mist is starting to break when the silence is shattered by the high-pitched whine of a squadron of pink GEVs as they race across the fields and onto the river...!)

I know a pair of young ladies who may get involved, too. Pink for the win!

Thanks for doing it, Drew. For myself, I don't give a damn about color. I'd play with black and white counters. But if some color helps others and, better still, draws young ladies to the game, then bring on the color, even pink. :)

It's all in how you sell it...

Rather than, "Honey, want to play a war game with your brother and Dad?", it's now, "Honey, want to embarrass your brother by crushing his tanks with pretty pink and purple ones?"

She's all in!

Pink n purple ... so er how many different coloured teams can we field now? 6? 7?

What possible scenario could involve that many players ... hmm...

  • A mad-cap scramble version of King of the Mountain
  • A really tangled version of Capture the Flag
  • Multiple allied factions fighting a more normal two-opponent battle, perhaps with treachery....

:)

Let's see....starting with just the conventional forces, we have:

Paneuropean (blue)
Combine (red)
Mercenary (green)
A second mercenary group (different green? - $3k sheet...)
Vatican Guard (purple with gold)
Sons of Old Nassau mercenaries (orange tiger stripe)
Anarchist Relief Front GEVs (pink)
Nihon (maroon)

...add in the 3-D Ogres:

Paneuropean (blue)
Combine (red)
Mercenaries (green)
Add'l $3k KS sheet (battleship grey)
Fire Mountain Games Ogres (black)
Arctic (white camouflage)
Vatican Guard (purple with gold)
Sons of Old Nassau mercenaries (orange tiger stripe)
Marauder
"Pretty Fencers" (from ACD Distributors - blue and yellow)

Or in other words...a LOT!

<grin>

D.

(I actually think there are even more...! I'll have to check my notes...)
