Hi all,
Happy to be on the forums and this is my first post. I've been playing munchkin for around 5 years now. Last night I played a great 5 hr match and of course some rule questions arose, so now I'm here :) I opened the door to the Sock Puppet and could kill it handily, but before I kill it, could I also play Eldritch Cleaver from my hand? Moderator's Edit: Please don't quote card text. Also, don't use formatting involving different colors. Of course my argument was that this card neither fought or aided the monster. What say you :) ...My apologies for my earlier posting method. Last edited by magoo85; 01-13-2013 at 07:12 PM. |

I'm having a hard time deciding. One, you're playing a card from your hand to affect the combat, but at the same time, it doesn't provided a bonus. . . I'm going to say, for now, that it's a legal play, unless Andrew has an opinion based on internal design knowledge.

This would seem to slightly conflict with this ruling:
. . . Of Love changes the Treasure distribution and removes the levels from the Sock Puppet, neither of which affects its combat strength, but you ruled it should be blocked in that case. |

. . . Of Love is played on and affects a Monster. Eldritch Cleaver affects the player upon which it is played.

Ah, yes, that does make the difference clear. Thanks.
