That's fairly drastic. A more fluid and graduated system could reduce the time per energy gathering attempt, from 5 esconds to 4 seconds, to 3 seconds, to 2 seconds, to 1 seconds, to twice per second, three times per second, per level of the trait.

As experienced by the players during actual, though, there will be few cases where it makes any difference whether the time is 5 seconds per cycle or 3 seconds. 2 seconds probably starts to matter because then you might have a chance of actually doing it in combat, before your heavily armed friends have eleminated the enemy.
