Ghoulfriends confirmation

I'd like to get confirmation that I ruled this correctly in our game last night.

Player A looks for trouble against a Plutonium Dragon and is beating it without a problem.
Player B wanders in Ghoulfriends

My ruling was that since once Ghoulfriends entered combat Player A must now fight both monsters (combined lvl 28) with just her Level which was 7.

Was I correct in that ruling?

BTW

End result was Player A used a Transferal Potion to make Player B fight both of them with just her level.
