I think a book that focuses on undead for use with dungeon delving would be very useful for me. I think it could have rules for corporeal and spiritual undead and give some life draining nasty oowers to them. It could also go into the details of their lairs with lots of ideas for tricks, traps and curses. Maybe their could be some random tables for generating undead with powers and weaknesses? I think that undead need their own book as do faeries, spirits, demons and Elder Things.

On topic however, I'll reiterate the point that is made whenever a thread like this is made - which is "You seem to have a really good idea of what you want, have you considered writing an article or even a book on this?". Of cause, just like the thread, this has all be covered already. I'm not sure what else to say.

Though, now that I'm thinking of undead, maybe I'll sketch out a random undead generator and see what happens... |

I wouldn't object to undead dinosaurs though, as I refuse to use dinosaurs in my fantasy settings (DF included) as I feel they spoil the setting (you have dragons for a reason) - but digging up some bones and making undead ones is fine in my books.

My goal would be to set up the generator so it produced templates that could be added to any base creature. So undead dinosaurs would be yours with a few rolls of the dice... |

I can see the idea being used in one of two ways.
1) A second entry into the DF Monsters series which focuses on non-living foes. 2) A second DF adventure which includes a lot of undead. Mirror of The Fire Demon did a good job of introducing creatures (which are used in the adventure,) and I think an undead-centric adventure would work well as both a second adventure and a product through which more undead could be introduced. |
