Hey guys,
I've been throwing together a little booklet with some guidelines on how to build a car/truck/motorcycle (as a character) for an upcoming GURPS: Autoduel game. Now, I wanted to add in a 'nitrous boost' system, and I'm a bit unsure of how to do it. What I've got so far is Basic Move* +1 (Costs Fatigue** 1/sec, -10%) 4.5pts Energy Reserve 10 (Boost only, -10%;...... And this is where it gets tricky: basically, I'm unsure of how to define the manner in which the Energy Reserve recharges. I want to add a limitation which requires nitrous fuel, and i don't know whether to apply the "Special Recharge" limitation (as noted under Energy Reserve, in Powers) or something else? Should i give it the Temporary Disadvantage: Restricted Diet instead? Has anybody got any suggestions? Please? Pretty please? *Every vehicle is assumed to have enhanced move, so the speed will go up exponentially or whatever - it keeps it closer to the 20% increase noted in Vehicles 2nd ed.. Mind you, if the players want to stick a nitrous system on an electric skateboard, well..i guess they can pootle along at 6yd/s... **Vehicles are machines, and "neither have, nor can spend, FP". You know it, I know, my dog knows it. I'm statting it as a character, so "FP", in this circumstance, refers to the Energy Reserve which can only be used for the boost. Sounds like you need the fast or slow reload option of the Limited Use limitation.
