-- But there's nothing Homeline has, or has access to, that would really be that amazing to Merlin. They already have almost limitless resources from enchantment and space development and have enough problems with extradimensional entities as it is. Some of the mundane tech would interest them (especially computers I bet, since Merlin seems to have stagnated in that respect). Some anti-magic folks would be more than willing to leave for a No Mana or Low Mana parallel, certainly. But even there they could haul in NEMA reactors to have bubbles of mana and experiment with controlled hellstorms or orbital relays to see if other Low Mana parallels have the same shielding that Merlin did before the Hellstorm stripped it. As an intelligence operation it's probably an elaborate foreign material exploitation (FME) program with their Homeline operatives keeping low and just going to college, downloading every journal article they can, collecting interesting technical manuals, interviewing scientists, and so on. No real need to get close to the programs that might have some arcane protection like classes for how the conveyers function or enrolling in the Patrol.
