As the title says..
I may soon be running a high adventure steampunk game using GURPS 4E. More specifically what Pyramid issues would be helpful? Are there any non-SJG's works that could be useful? Jeff |

The Castle Falkenstein suppliment "Comme Il Faut" is useful for any type of Victorian campaign. It has a lot of useful stuff about society in the Victorian Era.
Castle Falkenstein is a fun setting, but might have too much of a "kitchen sink" approach. As a friend of mine commented about another R. Talsorian game back in the '80s, "Some of us like our Cyberpunk without the twist of Elf." Still, it has some useful stuff in it, such as "Comme Il Faut", and "The Steam Age", a sourcebook for steampunk machines. Space 1889 is also a good setting with material you can use if your campaign is going to venture out into the lumiferous aether. |

Since Bill was too modest to mention it himself, I'll go ahead and recommend the 3e GURPS Steampunk, just in case you're not familiar with it. Even if you ignore all the 3e crunch, it's still a good resource.
Pyramid volume 3 issue 39 is dedicated to Steampunk. If you have GURPS Action, the Pulp Action advice in issue 3.08 may also be useful to you, there's a lot of overlap between Victorian adventure fiction and early 20th century pulp fiction. I don't have the recent Weird Science Pyramid issue (no budget for game books while I'm an unpaid volunteer), but it seems like it might be quite useful for Steampunk. If you're interested in non-gaming resources, I also recommend the Steampunk short-story collections edited by Ann and Jeff VanderMeer (Steampunk and Steampunk II), as well as the Extraordinary Engines Anthology. Many great short stories, set in many great Steampunk worlds. I recommend going with short story anthologies because you can see several different approaches to the genre in a relatively short period of time.
