Let me wax philosophical on "the stack." A stack mechanism is not a natural method for resolving issues in time. Normally, in life, we do something, and it can't be undone because someone decides they're going to do something about it. If you stick your hand in molten lava, me saying, "No, don't do that!" will not return your hand to you, nor make you forget that pain. Most games don't have a stack mechanism. In most games, playing a card, or taking some action, is not an indication of intent to play that card or take that action, it's playing that card or taking that action, and therefore it's done. For a game to have a stack mechanism, then the rules have to spell it out, in detail, how that particular game's stack works. Munchkin's rules do not spell out a stack mechanism for you to use, so there's no reason to infer that one should exist just because that other game has one. In fact, you should infer the opposite.
