Number of hirelings possible?

Are there any hirelings that say "does not count against your total?" I know there are some sidekicks that say that. I don't know about hirelings though.

Sidekicks and Hirelings are the same thing, so they technically qualify to answer your question. But to answer what you really meant, there are no Hirelings in the Fantasy sets that allow you to have another, although there is one card that allows you to have an extra one (MBA in Management).

Noble (birthright from Conan) allows you to have 1 extra comrade (hireling /sidekick etc.). It is possible to have unlimited hirelings if you are playing Epic Munchkin or have Munchkin 7 (Epic Junior card) along w/ Reloaded! Epic Master classes have no limit to hirelings.

Epic Junior won't help, you'd have to be playing Epic Munchkin or have the Dungeon of Unexpected Epicness in play. Epic Junior can't be played on a Class Enhancer and you only get the Epic rules for the Class, not the Class and its Enhancers.

I don't know about this. Most hirelings are not items. But the Cheat! post here does say:

It works with any other card or promotional item that specifically says, or comes with rules which specifically say, that you can use it to do something related to that card or promotional item (e.g., Hireling cards, T-shirts).

Does the bit in parenthesis mean hireling cards have text about the Cheat! card? My Box of Holding is all the way on the other side of the room.

The Need For Steed and De-Ranged rules say, "A Cheat! card can be used to give you an extra Hireling[.]" In both cases, this phrase is the in the section entitled "Hirelings and Cheating."
