Assassin is using a "collapsible hyperdense vibro-gum"; 3/4lb, 8" closed, 36" open, plus 0.05lb for a B cell and 40 seconds power. Like a Jian but ultratech.
I think the sword damage and weight is wrong* but that's a different story and probably only removes the +2.

PC knows Shortsword and Tonfa but only had a backup sidearm with memory baton rounds (which are lethal when you accidentally shoot someone in the right/ wrong location) and chose to enter melee range, although, he didn't know there were two more people behind the door... He's just fortunate the first attack was to disarm (or maybe it was a variant on Stormtrooper Marksmanship? like giant robots don't smoosh you, they throw into something soft).

edit: *weight was right, doesn't alter the damage but does limit it (max for user 3xST5) and the Superfine version is lighter, ST4, and possibly does reduce damage by 1pt.
