Good job, Peter and Sean! Saw immediate use in preparing for my upcoming Majestic Wilderlands campaign.

I agree very much with:

This transform the Henchmen books from a limited focus on NPCs to one that is useful for both GURPS Dungeon Fantasy and GURPS Fantasy.

If I run DF in the future, it will probably start as a 125 point novice delver campaign. Thanks, guys.

Definitely, by means of the lower cp character templates included, this book increases the accessibility for the entire Dungeon Fantasy line — of course I'm talking about people reluctant to run campaigns with 250 cp starting characters.

It doesn't quite fill the hole, because you still have to do all of that work. I've noted several times I use these guys in my games with racial templates bolted on. But I don't re-do them each time - I spent a lot of time all at once writing them up with equipment and so on and putting them in a big file. It was a non-trivial amount of time - add them up, look up BL and damage, decide on gear, add gear, figure encumbrance, write up damage, double-check the numbers, etc. And then play with them so I'd know that, say, I forgot to write down some obvious gear on a given fodder template and needed to add stats for it on the fly in play.

I'm there with the people who want a book of fodder monsters based on these, because it saves a lot of work.

Nodwick apparently came along much, much after I stopped reading Dragon magazine, so I didn't have any quotes to use as I wasn't familiar with it. Sean is, however, and the laborer power ups partly a nod to Nodwick.

Sweet!

And thanks for the review. GURPS books get precious few of them.

When you do, post some feedback from your play experience!

Funnily enough, the first thing I think of is 150 point games - one 125 point template and 25 points to pick a racial template, or do a little upgrading.

Getting this as soon as I get home!

Two quick questions: Who is Modwick and what is Mailanka's guide?

Also, for anyone looking for other templates (perhaps to get roles from and to construct a heirarchy of evil) should look into Historical Folks (3rd) and it's 4th Edition upgrade.
