Because in one of the modes, it's providing the functionality of a basic 4-function calculator, which normally behave that way. This is a perfectly reasonable option for the convenience of users accustomed to 4-function calculator use.

Hi Tom,
The game finder is indeed handy to find players. I hope the devolving of this discussion into a discussion of calculators didn't chase you away. This board tends to be filled with the geeky set (meant as a compliment from a geeky guy) I have never been involved in a GURPS group that wasn't more than happy to have new players. With that said it can sometimes be hard to find GURPS players in general. In my current gaming group. We have: 1 really really experienced GURPS player 2 me as gm been playing GURPS off and on for a long time but there was lots of off. 3. 2 players that were old hat to gaming but GURPS was new to them. 4. 4 players that are completely new to roleplaying. You might also look in the game announcement section of the board. Its found under the "Gnomes of Zurich" section of the board. http://forums.sjgames.com/forumdisplay.php?f=41 You might consider setting your profile to say what state and city you are in.
