Faith Healing is probably unnecessary. Major Healing, Minor Healing, and Healing Slumber are cheap for a beginning Cleric, and can reliably heal 30+ points of damage a die. True Faith (Turning) or some kind of Smite (deal area damage to demons/undead) is more useful.
That said, I'm really fond of the Saint option for introducing beginning players. There's no magic, just prayers and patronage, so it's easier to learn.
