From the most basic of sources:
Ruptured Spleen
Various abdomenal organ traumas

Sounds like injury to the spleen (or kidney or pancreas) is worrying but not devastatingly so unless there's a ruptured artery involved. I'd probably call that the basic Vitals effect, but YMMV.

Thanks! Those are great sources. The second one especially seems to varify a lot of my assumptions.
