In a fantasy periodical(it's a little thick to call it a "magazine") called Black Gate, they reviewed a couple of roleplaying items, and had a sample of a solo scenario that was supposed to be compatible with GURPS and The Fantasy Trip.
It was "Orcs of the High Mountains" from DarkCityGames.com, from a series called "Legends of the Ancient World"(the line that was supposed to be GURPS-friendly). The site has the samples in question. Getting to the point, do any of you have experience with this line? What are the drawbacks, does it have problems achieving compatibility? Have you found you can run your other GURPS characters through these without issue? Etc. I'm not 100% sure whether this belongs in GURPS or general role playing, but I seek to use this with GURPS and I'd like plenty of input from GURPS players.

Well, from looking at the rules, and the sample scenario, it isn't actually GURPS. It's a much simpler system that seems better suited to solo play. The numbers resemble GURPS, but the mechanics are somewhat different.
You don't generally have GURPS characters that you carry around and play in different GM's worlds. They tend to be designed for a particular world, and fairly specific to that. GURPS is a "toolbox" system, and many of the tools break worlds that aren't expecting them. |

Hmm....yeah, it seemed a bit..."dumbed down", but not completely alien to the basic GURPS system.
