Crossover Campaigns
Well I think someone once posted stats for ships like the Reimagined series of Battlestar Galactica like the Galactica, Pegasus, MK II and MK VII Vipers, Raptor and various basic model Civilian ships plus ships from Stargate's series like SG-1; Atlantis; and yes Universe such as the Prometheus-Class, the Daedalus-Class, Ha'Taks, Al'Keshes, Tal'Taks, Asgard ships, and Ancients/ Alteran ships.
I am working on a crossover campaign for GURPS either 3rd Ed or 4th Ed. I don't have Vehicles for 4th Ed yet, but do have most of the 3rd Ed books. I was wondering just what the mechanics of the ships should be. With 4th Ed for small arms and crew served weapons I can just use the basic ones in the characters and campaigns books. I had tried to develop ships using 4th Ed's Interstellar Wars, but the larger Colonial ships are outside the tables of the ship building rules. I can build a variation of the Prometheus and Daedulas class ships as a Daedalus can be built on a 100,000 dton hull and the Prometheus can be built on a 50,000 or 75,000 dton hull. Actually I've built a decent ship representation of the Daedalus on the 75,000 dton hull.
The Galactica, Pegasus, and Valkyrie class ships of BSG: 2003 are all over 1,000,000 dtons according to doing the math to get the volume of each. The 4th Ed Traveller: Interstellar Wars hull chart stops at 100,000 dtons without adjustments for larger sizes in the text.
Also the Colonial Fleet ships use Coilguns which according to my research are cannon sized guassguns rough similar in caliber to the mainguns of a WW-2 battleship like the Iowa-Class or the Yamato-Class, and the Stargate Command ships use railguns roughly the same caliber as the GAU-8 or the M242 Bushmaster. I am just wondering what would be good stats for these weapons as I can use IW's plasma cannons for the Ha'Tak and Asgard plasma weapons and heavy missile bays for the missile tube systems of the Battlestars, Basestars, Deep Space Cruisers, and Battlescruisers.
