Blind Weapons would make sense as baring, which is where you use your sword to choke up the opponent's sword so you can run in on them. Baring was mostly practised by the highlanders (who were fighting on the charge) but it's something you could include. The way in which backsword practitioners learnt to use the point was to learn smallsword (mostly French smallsword or fencing derived from it) so you conceivably bring across other techniques from there as well. Duelling sabres are derived from Broadsword type weapons, and often their use is broadsword inspired as well, if that helps.

Not really. Contrary to popular belief bashing with the basket is relatively uncommon, certainly not the purpose of the basket as many people seem to think.
