i've checked around and no luck. Barnes & Noble's got one on their site for $1,256.68!! Tax: $106.82 + Shipping: $3.99 for a whopping $1,367.49!!

one reason i see this expansion as essential is that i brings in even more relevant and up to date groups.

was popularity for the game waning at the time BFD came out? was it a short print run? just wondering why it is so hard to find...

...
You're kidding... That's insane. Barnes & Nobles should be the next group card with 10 resistance.

Amazon has it for $800. That's crazy!

I'm glad I got my copy when I did, I guess.

I think I was able to track one down. I should know for sure after the weekend. The last time I found one, my order went through only to get an email the next day saying it was actually out of stock.

Best of luck! Do you have the other expansions already? I love MAD (and would like to see extra cards for it), and I also love Brainwash, though it's apparently not that popular.

Order cancelled! Out of stock!
Had a feeling that was coming.

I recently bought MAD and Y2K and both are great additions, making my desire for BFD so intense. How's Brainwash? I haven't seen it. Are there new cards or just different rule variations?

Two new Illuminati suggestions, but not actual cards; you have to write them on blanks.

The rules are great!!

I've owned both Brainwash and it's forerunner Expansion set 3 when the were first released and never bothered to try to play with either. To be honest it just add a level of complexity to the game that make it hard to get motivated for. There are no cards with it but about 100 chits for putting on the groups as their alignments change or the stats are increased. These are done as action types. The World board adds an additional attack type that you get 2 of per turn, but the bonuses the alignment slanting of the world board is covered mostly by the MAD cards. The Media groups being assigned to previously printed cards just adds more confusion.

There are 2 or 3 additional Illuminati ideas. The Atlantians evolved into Shangrila while the Masters of Voodoo and the Telepasts depend too heavily on the Brainwash Rules to play without. There were NO cards for the new cabals. There are pictures of the components on boardgamegeek.

Honestly, not very good IMO. It adds so much time and complexity to the game and requires you to keep track of more rules and a special list of cards (certain groups are designated as "Media" cards -- but this is only on the Brainwash list; it's not something you can tell by looking at the group). The effect is to add or subtract power and resistance from certain alignments, basically.

MAD was created to achieve the same effect, however. It's random instead of something you decide upon, but it's so much simpler and (IMO) far more fun. (I'd advise against using both MAD and Brainwash; you'd want to pick one or the other.)

I just happened to look on eBay for a copy. Someone has the guts to put it up for a $399.99 starting bid with a $499.99 Buy It Now. Are they insane?

I knew I should have ordered it 2 months ago.
