No, the 2.6 second rule doesn't work that way. Once you used friendly, the monster is instantly removed from combat. The other players have time to wander in other monsters, but they can no longer play cards on the monster that's already gone.
It does NOT mean they have 2.6 seconds to play a card that would retroactively prevent the card you just played. |

Unless that card happens to be one of the few that are allowed to have retroactive effects, such as Annihilation.
