Default friendly and necrophobia

Hi, there was timing problems in our last game.
Munchkin A plays King Tut and immediately plays Friendly, munchkin B plays Necrophobia on munchkin A at the same time as Friendly was played. Munchkin A says that he already played Friendly and decided not to fight, so there is no combat anymore and he don't need to run away. Munchkin B says that there is 2.6 seconds after King Tut was played for Necrophobia to apply and munchkin A has to run away. So who is right and what happens to Friendly card?

We ruled that there was this sequence:
munchkin A plays King Tut. while there is 2.6 seconds every other munchkin can play instants on King Tut\munchkin A, so Necrophobia is applied and munchkin A immediately has to run away. so there is no time to play Friendly and it goes back to munchkin A hand.

ps: sorry for my bad english.

No, the 2.6 second rule doesn't work that way. Once you used friendly, the monster is instantly removed from combat. The other players have time to wander in other monsters, but they can no longer play cards on the monster that's already gone.

It does NOT mean they have 2.6 seconds to play a card that would retroactively prevent the card you just played.

Unless that card happens to be one of the few that are allowed to have retroactive effects, such as Annihilation.

Friendly, however, doesn't work that way. . . Friendly affects ALL the Monsters, and you may still choose to fight them, but that gives them all a bonus based on rolling the die twice.

There is absolutely no reason why Player A is not allowed to make that play. He just has to give everyone a reasonable amount of time to stop him from winning, but that in no way ties his hands. And, since Friendly doesn't end the combat and remove the Monster(s) immediately, as was stated, incorrectly by someone else, Necrophobia is a fantastic play to prevent him from getting all that loot.

Doesn't Necrophobia only work when fighting an Undead monster? I know King Tuts is Undead but isn't he gone?

*thinks for a second

Oh of course- King Tut is not gone, he is still around but just friendly. A friendly undead, that Player A is sudden terrified of.

I can just picture King Tuts face.

"Please take my treasure. Anything for my new friend! Wait- where are you going? Friend? Ohh.. why do the good ones always hurt me... :("

If we had a "like" button in these forums, that previous post would get a +1 from me.
