Ian Douglas'es Star Marines series makes extensive use of marine boarding actions in a fairly Hard Sci-Fi setting. In this case the enemy Xul tend to post multi-kilometer warships near star gates and the marines are used in stealth infiltration to get on board find a good place inside to drop a nuke that will actually kill the ship and then extract. Advanced AI.s are present in the series but Organic Intelligences (at least human intelligences) are capable in a still little understood way of successfully predicting/manipulating the interior of Xul warships.
