Certainly one would need to go beyond the 3x3 matrix for Barbarians, but that's no problem. The concept is solid, the formatting is really annoying until you get used to it (and moderately annoying even then), but this has the ability to start small. The Knight and Barbarian concepts each average 175 words each. That means you could have an 8 page (~ 7000 word) document that had 40 of these concepts, and we've only put down two so far.

Heck, both of them have been warrior-types. If you want to cover ONLY warriors, across a few genres of TL, such as TL2-4, 4-5, 6-8, you'd have 13 categories per TL; call it about a dozen per group?

Barbarian
Knight
Mercenary/Adventurer for Hire
Raider/Skirmisher
Scout/Spy
Infantryman
Ranged Weapon Expert
Swashbuckler
Marine/Seaborne infantry
Judicial Champion
Commander/General
Artillerist/Seige Expert

Heck, that's a dozen, and I'm sure we could refine that, toss out the crap, put in better categories, and then duplicate that for the TL groupings.

Point is, by fleshing out what seems a viable concept, maybe tossing in a spreadsheet like in my Bow Design article that automates some stuff, and you've got the workings of a great release.
