Help with Character planning and optimization and tactics?

So if I wanted a Cheap Heavy Mail as torso armor, and I wanted it to cover upper arms, and go down his legs a bit, and I wanted a pot helm with nasal and spectacles, and some sturdy gloves and boots, and maybe some kind of under armor padding, and then clothes.... how the heck would I price this out??

How would YOU guys price out 'basic Viking chain armor'??
