I'd suggest you want to think in terms of Cheap Mail (or if your GM lets you get away with it, maybe Mail and Plates). You need to think about what you want your total combat load to weigh, and how much of that is left for armor. Chances are that Cheap is going to be preferable to regular quality on your budget, though getting it as sig gear might pose eventual problems...

How many points would I need to get something decent? Or would it be better to try and get the stuff via Patron?? Or should I just buy some wealth?? I'm having trouble figuring out the gear price for culturally appropiate maille from low tech...
