On Supers, p. 114, it lists several options for Spending Character Points on Feats.
Is it acceptable to use the temporary CP from your DR (Absorption) for these purposes? Obviously for some of the uses, the temporary nature of the CP would only extend duration (for instance, extending the duration of a Warp Tunnel). These uses would be more impressive with Extended Duration on the DR with Absorption, of course. What about spending them to fuel abilities that cost CP? And I could ask the same of Cosmic Power's power pool. Could those power pool points be temporarily reconfigured for some or all of those uses, assuming the power pool wasn't limited to use for categories not fitting the uses of CP mentioned (base Cosmic Power is limited to Mental only, etc.)?

I would say yes in both cases, but also in both cases, the points are GONE once spent as such (so very deterimental to a cosmic point pool). You might want to be generous and say that at the end of each adventure the points return to the cosmic pool (mimicking disposable signature gear)
This is of minimal concern to a person with absorptive DR, but it does mean that they only get one instant powerful effect rather then several rounds of slowly diminishing less powerful effect. Since absorptive DR already has rules for recovering HP/FP I would not let any effect that does that be used. |
