Default Shapeshifting and Combat Reflexes

If my Druid casts Shapeshifting (Dire Wolf) and the Dire Wolf template includes Combat Reflexes, does my Druid then have Combat Reflexes in Dire Wolf shape?

Yes. If you're paying the points for that part of the template, you get the advantage. That includes mental traits–if your GM decides that you don't get mental traits from shapeshifting, then you get alternate form with the dire wolf template minus all of the mental traits.

Unless it's not the advantage, but the Shapeshifting spell from Magic. in that case the assumption is that you don't get the mental traits: "The caster retains his intelligence, but gains all the physical attributes of the new form", supported by the fact that you " calculate the point value of the physical characteristics of the beast form and charge 1/20 of the form’s cost to cast".

Combat Reflexes is noted as Mental on B43, (and a Mental trait is defined on B32), so with Shapeshifting spell, I don't think you should get the advantage.

Good catch. I wonder how many GMs can use this to surprise their (spell-)shapeshifters. ;)
