Default Re: Siege Engine in 19th printing

Yep, same here! New to Munchkin, but the roommates and I have been playing a bunch and are clearing the air on many things.

The Siege Engine brings up two questions, actually: the Big Item status as being discussed and additionally the 2-Handed part.

Now, the Big Item status, at least for our rules, is in effect at all times unless otherwise altered. It doesn't technically move itself like a Steed per se, BUT unlike other Bit Items it's never actually carried to be moved; it's on wheels! So whether or not you use it in combat doesn't change the fact that hauling it around from room to room doesn't involve heavy lifting. You jump in it, move around, use it in combat or hop out momentarily until the fight is done with before hopping right back in.

The 2-Handed status is a problem but only with deciding items at the beginning of combat. If you get the choice to use it at the start of combat, how does that affect your other items that require hands? If you use the Engine, do they suddenly become unequipped?

This somewhat leads into my newbish-ness, as the hands issue is answered if, at the beginning of combat before deciding to fight the monster that's in front of you, you can decide on your equipment then and there before you're stuck using it the rest of the fight. I was under the impression that as soon as the monster is out to fight you were stuck with what you had on. Is this incorrect?

So much confusion with one card.

I just got munchkin 2 a couple of days ago and this card is definitely confusing me. I know if this card is pulled the next time I play munchkins with my friends, that they'll look to me for clarification, and I won't be able to help. So will the intent of this card be clarified any time soon? Sorry if I sound like I'm trying to rush an answer, I'm sure y'all are busy with other stuff.

We know we need to address this card. We'll get to it when we can offer a complete, correct answer and explanation.
