Isn't the point of Temporary Disadvantage to let you exploit the advantageous elements of certain disads?

No. If that were the case it would be be an Enhancement rather than a Limitation. You're thinking about a Perk, Voluntary disadvantage, I think. Which I wouldn't allow for Horrific either.

Yeah. that's what I was thinking of. Still being temporarily Horrific does have it's problems. People just won't think of you the same way after they see you morph into a mind-bending monstrosity.

That reminds me of the Half-Horrible-Monstrosity-From-Beyond-Space-And-Time (aka Half-Elder-Spawn) template from Dungeon Fantasy 3:

They've listed it, in this case, as "Supernatural Features: Not Quite Right", specifically giving the -1 to reactions from anyone who witnesses their racial abilities (Double-Jointed, Homogenous, Slippery, Etc) in action and of course the usual +1 to attempts to figure out what they Really Are.

That would probably be a good sort of thing to put on the character sheet of someone who really IS a mind-bending monstrosity and temporarily reveals such when using a Kewl Power.

Probably instead of TD: Horrific, even. Jack up the level of the Supernatural Features for more reaction penalty and bonuses to figure out Your Real Secret.

You put a round through the MiB's glasses resulting in a angry chittering noise issuing from his mouth as greenish fluid slowly oozes from the wound. He turns and starts towards you, not noticeably affected an injury that would have killed a normal man...

I like it.
