ok..heres another, and i appreciate all the quick responses..man this forum is great, so i turn over a monster from the door cards, i am beating the monster, my son has like 3 card types of +5 to either party type cards, can he play as many of those instant cards to buff up the monster, so lets say im beating the monster, he plays a +5 to monster, then its beating me, so i play another +3-5 on me so im beating the monster, then he can play another, and i can as well, till you virtually run out of these "buff up or down" cards. So i guess you can play as many instant cards as you want till the round is over?

For the most part, the card will tell you when you are allowed to play it.
"at any time" and "during any combat" are common sentences you'll find on them. Monster Enhancers(+5, +10 to level of monster) are legally allowed to be played during any combat, even against yourself if you would like to be bold. Therefore, you may use as many cards for you or against someone else's combat as you'd like until you run out or until you reach other cards that may forbid you from using them. Those types of cards are relatively clear for the most part and are rare. You'll find all kinds of crazy cards in Munchkin expansions and other core sets that are not in the Munchkin 1 core set. |

As long as it's the appropriate time to play one-shot Items and Monster Enhancers, you can play as many as you'd like. In some cases, a Monster might prevent it, and some enhancers are incompatible (they will say so on the cards, so you don't have to worry about which ones), but there is no general limit.

Also referring to one shot cards, if I have a monster im about to do battle, and an opponent plays a monster enhancer, does he have to wait before the first one shot he put down is resolved to play another one shot or can he play like a monster enhancer then a curse right after that without me doing anything yet. Also can multiple people play one shot..like if I have the monster out there im battling, and were playing with 4 people, can all 3 of the other people play a one shot of some sort at the same time? Thanks again.

Each card played "resolves" as it is played, even if multiple cards are played "all at once". Card 1 resolves, card 2 resolves, card 3, etc. etc. etc.
While there's no rule REQUIRING your opponent to play one card at a time, it's usually how we play the game. You play your card, opponent can read and/or respond, then you play your next card, etc. etc. etc. As to whether multiple people can use one-shots - ABSOLUTELY!! That's all part of the fun!

I know when we play there are times when the non-combatants will ask each other if we have enough to put the monsters over the top before playing our first one-shot that helps the monster.
It's always a good idea to play them one at a time to see if the player is going to respond. The idea would be to play just enough to get the mosnter winning and then see what happens. That way you don't burn too many at once and have some you can use later in the game. |
