Is Cowboy Bebop required? Ive seen Outlaw Star, Lost Universe and Angel Links so I somewhat know the genre (I think) but havent watched Cowboy Bebop yet

I haven't actually watched Cowboy Bebop myself, but the sort of character I have in mind is a combination hacker/socialite who's primarily in it for the money. I'll PM you a draft character sheet.

EDIT: Come to think of it, having checked the wikipedia article that seems a little too similiar to Ed (highly intelligent hacker). I'll try a pilot-type character.

Just so y'all know, my guy is a private eye. I think we need a medic, and someone that can do combat stuff.

Wasn't it already specified we should all be skilled at combat? And what about an Engineer and a hacker?

Right. My guy has Pistol 14 and Brawling and Wrestling at 13. I was suggesting someone more... specialized in combat.

But there's no way we'll even get close to the stuff Spike and Faye were pulling off in the show.

When our guys are getting shot at by twenty guys with machine pistols, and there's snipers in the rafters, they'll die. If we want to have someone capable of something even close to that, most of their points will have to go into combat abilities.

It really depends on the sort of missions we'll be doing. I'm thinking we won't be able to pull off the kinds of stuff we saw in the show at these point levels. What was Ed's Hacking! skill? Thirty? Thirty-five? She looked at computers and they did what she wanted.... And that stuff was against unbreakable TL9 encryption. The show was incredibly cinematic in that regard. And Jet was able to fix their ships in about thirty minutes, without spare parts sitting around.

Although based on a cinematic setting, I'll try to incorporate as much as realism as I can. However, you will be allowed to use points for rerolling and for conversion of crit. fails to fails, and succeses to crit. succeses, but NOT for fails to succeses. Most of the time, you'll spend around investigating and looking for your mark, so base your character on skills and abilities that help in tracking and finding clues.

I will shortly send a PM to all of those who submitted their character via PM, and those would be ErhnamDJ, kabbalist and Magdeburg.

Regarding the roles you took by your characters, so far we have:
One private investigator, very much based on social skills, but is an all-round character in general. (ErhnamDJ)
One bounty hunter/informant/spy/don't really know how to name him, with a bunch of social skills as well. (kabbalist_ninja)
And I have one character paired with an ally, that can be a pilot, but his ally is yet another social/charismatic character, which the group doesn't need THAT much.

The NPC you will all meet (that you have already met, you'll see in your PMs) has decent, but not excellent skills in all fields. He will be able to repair some minor damage on ship, he knows how to pilot a ship, but can't really fight while flying in hyperspace, he knows a bit of first aid, but he won't be able to help you if you get damaged hard, he is skilled with computers, but the top of his hacking skills are enabling a console in video games and adjusting a web-browser a bit.

All in all, he'll cover some minor holes, but don't expect from him to do everything.

And last thing I want to talk about is the knowledge required for playing this. If you've seen Cowboy Bebop, I guess you're good. If you didn't, it's not a problem, the first post synopsis should cover everything you need for a start. If you want to know something specific that affects the whole universe -that is, is important to be known by all, post it here, I'll answer it. If it's something regarding your char - PM

It's not late, but your career options are somewhat limited. Apparently, the group is in a grave need of a techie/engineer and a medic.

A fighting type of character is also a thing you can consider, but I guess we already have that covered with Magdeburg.

Ok cool. Perhaps I can swing some sort of medic. I have my RPG group tonight, but perhaps I can make a character afterwards and pm it on over to you.
