The thing is, Stretching and "Compressing" are game-mechanically identical. If you have a long critter that can coil up or otherwise contract, then I'm guessing that the coiled size is a better basis for its strength.

So even with all those legs, they can carry in their arms most of whet their legs can support? I wasn't proposing NFM as a disad, only as a limitation on any racial ST bonus that exceed the arms. This approach keeps you from having to go with Weak Arms, which has some bizarre thresholds. Half ST Arms mean a quarter of the lifting ST, which may be a lot less arm ST than what you want.
